New York – October 20, 2010 – Over 250,000 screening clips are now available for immediate download through Footage.net’s stock footage search platform, giving footage researchers a key new tool with which to locate, screen and share screening clips.

Footage researchers have already begun making real use of this powerful new feature, downloading sample clips from many Footage.net partners including Absolutely Wild Visuals, CONUS Archive, FootageBank HD, FRAMEPOOL, Global Image Works, Action Sports/Scott Dittrich Films and StockFood Motion.

“Giving users the ability to download screening clips was just the next logical step in our development as a visual search platform,” said Domenick Propati, Footage.net President. “With over one million clips from some of the world’s top archives now available for screening through our site, our goal is to make sure that researchers have everything they need to take full advantage of our vast footage resource.”

With a growing collection of online screening clips, millions of detailed text records and the addition of this critical new download feature, Footage.net offers footage researchers the tools they need to discover and obtain motion content quickly and easily.

Footage.net Reaches One Million Image Milestone
Footage.net now offers access to one million screening clips from some of the world’s top footage companies through its stock footage search platform

New York - July 29, 2010 - Enabled by its new video-friendly architecture, Footage.net (www.footage.net) now offers users access to over one million screening clips from some of the world’s top footage companies. The inclusion of these world-class images brings a whole new dimension to Footage.net’s search and screening platform, and makes it one of the world’s largest online repositories of stock footage clips.

Most recently, US-based DVArchive added 70,000 clips to the platform, and Australia-based Absolutely Wild Visuals added 36,000. Earlier in 2010, Getty Images came on board with 300,000 clips, FootageBank HD added 70,000 and CriticalPast loaded 57,000. In all, clips from 17 footage collections can now be screened through the Footage.net site.

True to its roots as a text-based search engine, Footage.net remains committed to providing researchers with access to millions of detailed text records. For deep archival research, there is often no substitute for text. But the footage industry has shifted by and large to a visual search paradigm, and there's no arguing with the power and immediacy of an online clip. So now all Footage.net searches deliver, as a default, both screening clips where available as well as text.

The transformation from a mainly text-based search engine to a visual search resource required the addition of an array of new online functionality, as well as a more robust backend storage and delivery system. The redesigned user interface and improved search capabilities provide researchers with the necessary tools to fully utilize its vast footage database, work with images, manage results and communicate with Footage.net's content partners. They also help Footage.net’s content partners better present their stock footage collections to the global production community.

By providing both a growing collection of online screening clips as well as millions of detailed text records, Footage.net offers footage researchers maximum flexibility in how they discover and obtain motion content.
